Access Keys for GRIN

GRIN has been designed to the Section 508 Standards Guidelines. In addition, GRIN is completely keyboard accessible through the use of Access Keys. Currently, Access Keys work within the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (4.x and above) environment and not within Netscape browser(4.x).
Each GRIN Page has standard Access Keys for your use. An access key is activated by pressing the "alt" key and the assigned "letter" key simultaneously on your keyboard. If the action is a URL you then press enter, if the action is a button the action will automatically activate. Some Keys are not applicable to the functionality of a page, and are non-functional.
These are above the standard MSIE browser or Netscape control keys.

• Search Page

  The Search Page has input fields for adding search criteria. Each field is labeled for access to the input area. Each field is accessible with Access Key "o", sequentially as they appear on the page.
  
  

• Search Results Page

  The Results are listed 1 through 10, they can each be accessed through the Access Key "z" to scroll through the list. To retrieve the abstract, tab once then "enter" to select the document for viewing. If the Result Set is more than 10 records, navigation buttons appear, they are accessible with Accesskey 1 - 9, respectively. To access pages 10 - 19, tab past page 9, and use accesskey 1-9 for 11-19, respectively, continue through the page buttons.
  
  

• Scroll Category and Center Pages

  The Listing can be accessed through the Access Key "z" to scroll through the list. To scroll through further listings on subsequent pages, repeat. To retrieve the abstract, scroll with Access Key "z", to select the abstract, tab once and hit enter to activate URL for viewing. If the Listing Set is more than 10 records, navigation page numbers appear, they are accessible through a URL, they are accessible with Accesskey 1 - 9+(enter), respectively. To access pages 10 - 19, tab past page 9, and use accesskey 1-9 for 11-19+(enter), respectively, continue through the page buttons.
