 
Child Care
Program Overview
The Child Care Bureau supports low-income working families through child care financial assistance and promotes children's learning by improving the quality of early care and education and after-school programs. This program is administered at the local level by States and Native American Organizations (NAO), who operate local offices or contract with local Resource and Referral Agencies to provide Child Care certificates/vouchers to low income families so that the families can purchase their own child care.

Tribal Services
The Tribal Child Care Technical Assistance Center (TriTAC) maintains a list of tribes that receive Federal funding for child care. To find out if your tribe receives child care funding, please visit TriTAC's website.
Seattle Regional Office Roles and Contacts
Region 10 staff:
- provide training and technical assistance to the States and NAOs in the development and implementation of their Child Care plans
- review and recommend approval of Child Care plans
- maintain oversight of both the financial and programmatic implementation of these plans
- collaborate with federal, state, and local governments as well as NGOs and Tribal organizations on child care issues
- arrange technical assistance through Regional and State meetings and the sharing of national child care policies
- promote Child Care quality through recommended standards distributed by the National Child Care Resource Center, information and referral exchange, and the sharing of best practices
- deliver on-site training and technical assistance for local, State and NAO staff
- provide leadership in the development of state and tribal child care systems
