Former Worker Medical Screening Program (FWP)
BERYLLIUM VENDOR SCREENING PROGRAM
DOE provides beryllium sensitization screening to former
employees of defunct DOE beryllium vendors who were employed
with these companies while they performed work for DOE. DOE's
intent is to ensure that workers who no longer have
an employer to turn to for beryllium disease testing can
receive this important screening. DOE will offer these individuals
a blood test at no cost to check for beryllium sensitization
and will pay for both the costs of drawing the blood and the
analysis of the blood.
If a screened individual receives a positive test for beryllium
sensitization, he/she can receive medical monitoring for beryllium
disease through DOL's EEOICP.
