GET REAL, WHO WANTS TO PRINT TEN AT A TIME?

Initially properties comes out in "screen-size" bites of ten records at a time. However if you want to print the best way to do so is an export. Run the report and then go to the Export button at the bottom of the screen. While you can save to an Excell spreadsheet it is easiest to press the down arrow, select Microsoft Word, check all rows and hit export. Save the report.iws file to a directory such as c:\temp and then print out in Word.

If you are given a choice the least wasteful way to print is to print out those without Web pages. Excell is a good choice if you want to manipulate the data locally. You can also get the Web page to print out in larger bites, or more than 10 at a time, by running the report, selecting options above, then page size and start row, then upping page size to a higher limit like 5000, hitting apply changes, then test run query, click ok and then apply changes. A single Web page is the result.

SESSION NO LONGER ACTIVE

Application times out after ten minutes of inactivity so that others may use it. Easiest thing to do is to exit all instances of your browser and reconnect to the site.

INVALID QUERY PARAMETER

If you stay on for awhile you may see this message If this happens exit all instances of your browser, and restart by going to www.nr.nps.gov/nr or www.nr.nps.gov.

DOWNLOAD DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE

If you are sure you want to download--it is a lot of data and takes a while--make sure that FTP capabilities are turned on within your browser.

IT WORKED BEFORE BUT SOMETHING BAD HAS HAPPENED

Close all instances of your browser and reenter the site. You may also want to clear your cache. To do so:

In Netscape Communicator 4.7 go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Cache and then clear both Memory Cache and Disk Cache. Click OK. If you do not understand type in Cache in Netscape help.

In Internet Explorer 5 go to Tools/Internet Options/Delete Files. Click OK.
