File type	Description
Text	Indented text parseable by mp. This includes both files whose names end in `.met` and those whose names end in `.txt`. The former are the "sources" from which all the other formats are generated.
Outline	Outline-style HTML. This is the output of mp with the `-h` command line option.
FAQ	Metadata expressed as questions with answers. This is the "frequently-anticipated questions" form generated by mp.
SGML	Standard Generalized Markup Language. These files are generated by mp so that Isite can index them. No hypertext links to these documents are provided.
DIF	Directory Interchange Format. This format is in common use within NASA and is derived from a much older and less-detailed metadata standard.
