Consultant
Directory
Consultants support local Early Childhood programs as they work to
provide high quality and effective services to children and families.
Consultants listed in this database have been screened to verify their
education, work experience, and licensing. However, inclusion in this
directory should not be construed as an endorsement by the Office of
Head Start nor an assertion that the individual necessarily has the
skills needed to assist your program. Programs are urged to check
consultant references and to interview any consultant under
consideration before making a final decision.
Head Start Higher Education
Partnership Grants (HEGs)
Just as Head Start provides
every child who walks through its doors with the opportunity to
succeed in school, learning, and life, the Head Start Higher
Education Partnership Grants strive to do the same thing for Head
Start teachers. The Head Start Higher Education Partnership grants
(HEGs) were created to increase the numbers of Head Start and Early
Head Start teaching staff with degrees in early childhood. Launched
in 1997, the first Higher Education Partnership grants were awarded
to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Over the
years, these grant awards have expanded to include Tribally
Controlled Land Grant Colleges and Universities (TCUs) and Hispanic
Latino Service Institutions (HSIs).
Head Start Training/Technical Assistance (T/TA)
Network Directory
The Directory is inclusive of the entire
Head Start T/TA network. The Index is sorted by last name and
contains type and Region for each Directory member, as well as
section and page number. Use the search feature to locate members
across regions, and states, and to find local TA Specialists.
Head Start State Collaboration Offices Directory
Since 1990, the Office of Head Start has
funded Head Start State Collaboration grants to support the
development of multi-agency and public/private partnerships at the
state level. Use the search feature to locate the Head Start State
Collaboration Office (HSSCO) in your state. The HSSCOs encourage
widespread collaboration between Head Start and other appropriate
programs, services, and initiatives, augmenting Head Start's
capacity to be a partner in State initiatives on behalf of children
and their families.
