The Center annually involves more than 50 interns in its activities. They come under the auspices of the Smithsonian's internship programs or various university programs. |

Opportunities:

Interns take on a specific project under the guidance of the Center's professional staff and have come from the Corcoran School of Art, Gallaudet, Georgetown, George Washington, and Howard universities in the Washington area, and from institutions across the nation including the University of Chicago, Kapi'olani Community College, Brandeis University, Davidson College, Harvard University, New Mexico State University, Oberlin College, Skidmore College, Smith College, Syracuse, and William and Mary universities.
