This site is a resource for responders, their families, medical professionals, and those seeking information about the health effects resulting from the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

HHS Goals

  • Helping Responders and Those Affected
Identify potential health risks to responders and others affected by exposures following the attacks of 9/11.

  • Identifying Needs
Work with state, local, and private partners to identify needs and support monitoring and treatment programs.

  • Scientific Reports
Encourage and promote scientifically rigorous studies and reviews of potential health problems or risk factors. This includes building sufficiently robust databases that can be used by scientists and health professionals to generate scientifically strong analyses.

  • Preparation for the Future
Research results from HHS coordination, monitoring, and reporting efforts. This research will be used to strengthen emergency preparedness and response efforts and shape health treatment.
