WACO, Texas -- The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) located at the BCD Building at 52 SW 5th St. in Hamlin will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.  More than 250 residents have visited the Hamlin MDRC so far. 

Assistance is still available to Texans affected by Tropical Storm Erin, even after the MDRC closes. Individuals who have questions or need to register can still do so by calling FEMA's toll-free help line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

Individuals and businesses with losses caused by the Aug. 14-Aug. 20 severe storms and flooding have until Dec. 3 to register for federal disaster assistance. Financial assistance, including loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), is available for homeowners, renters, business owners and most private-non-profits in Bexar, Harris, Jones, Kendall, Medina and Taylor Counties.

Affected individuals can apply to FEMA by telephone or online at www.fema.gov. The toll-free phone number for applications is 800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those with speech or hearing impairments, seven days a week.
