FEMA Public Assistance grant funding is making it possible for the RSD and
OPSB to repair and rebuild schools in New Orleans. This website and the maps

impaired by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Police, fire, and EMS stations as
well as many jails and prisons were destroyed or damaged. Scores of
equipment and vehicles were lost.
Public safety services must be restored to ensure not only the safety of
hurricane survivors and returning residents but also the general welfare of
Gulf Coast communities.
FEMA is committed to ensuring community safety and welfare of citizens. As
