Expanding and Using Knowledge to Reduce Earthquake Losses: The National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Strategic Plan 2001-2005
This Strategic Plan was submitted to Congress in response to P.L. 95-124 (as amended) and P.L.
101-614 (as amended). The Strategic Plan guides federal earthquake research, loss reduction,
and mitigation efforts in the U.S.; articulates the mission and goals of the NEHRP; provides a
framework for priority-setting and the coordination of activities by the four NEHRP agencies
and their partners; and defines priority areas for the future.
