NIMS Draft Intelligence/Investigations Function Guidance Document and Field Operations Guide 
 
On February 26, 2008, we mistakenly released the Draft Guidance Document and Field Operations Guide (FOG) for a national comment period.  Reviewing and commenting on the Guidance and the FOG would inadvertently pre-empt the NIMS review and comment process.  The correct sequence starts with revisions to the original NIMS base document, which was published on March 1, 2004.  A revised NIMS draft has gone through a preliminary national review cycle and will be released shortly for the final national review incorporating changes identified during the National Response Framework (NRF) development and approval process. 
 
To maintain the viability of that process we must first proceed with finalizing the NIMS and then begin work on the Guidance Document and FOG which can then be incorporated into the larger NIMS process.
