Disaster Recovery Centers to Open in Jackson and Saline Counties

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will open Monday, April 28 in Jackson County and Wednesday, April 30 in Saline County to assist victims of recent severe storms, tornadoes and flooding the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today.

A Mobile DRC (MDRC) will be open in Jackson County April 28 - May 3, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Saline County DRC will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 30 – May 27, Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays  and will be located at:

Disaster victims are urged to register for assistance before visiting a DRC by logging on to www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those who are speech- or hearing-impaired. Phone lines are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Representatives from ADEM, FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available at the DRC to answer questions and to provide recovery information. Officials at the DRC also can check the status of disaster applications; provide information about state agencies and voluntary organizations; discuss the SBA’s low-interest loans for homeowners, renters and businesses; and provide information on how to reduce future damage. No cash, checks, debit cards or vouchers are distributed at disaster recovery centers. These centers are solely for the dissemination of information to assist victim recovery.
