ORLANDO, Fla. --  Eight State-FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will suspend operations at noon, Thursday September 4, as a precautionary measure due to Tropical Storm Hanna.

The recovery centers are scheduled to re-open at noon, Saturday, September 6.

The recovery center in Okeechobee will close permanently at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Applicants may still register by calling FEMA toll-free 800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with a speech or hearing impairment may call TTY 800-462-7585 and apply. Multilingual operators are available. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate 7 a.m. to midnight daily until further notice. Application for disaster assistance can also be made by registering online at www.fema.gov until the Recovery Centers re-open on Saturday.
