Hinds County Disaster Recovery Center Will Close Thursday, June 12

CLINTON, Miss. -- The last day the FEMA/MEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Hinds County will be open is Thursday, June 12, 2008.
The hours of operation through Thursday are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Residents of Hinds County who have suffered storm damage during the April 4 severe storms and tornadoes are encouraged to visit the center if they need assistance or information regarding their claim. Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, MEMA and voluntary agencies are available at the center.
The DRC is located at the Willie Morris Library, 4912 Old Canton Road in Jackson. Storm victims are encouraged to register with FEMA before visiting the DRC.
Individuals can register for disaster aid by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those who are hearing or speech impaired. FEMA operators are available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., everyday, until further notice. Registration also can be completed online at www.fema.gov.
Even though the FEMA/MEMA DRC will close June 12, applicants can have their questions answered by calling the FEMA Helpline at the numbers listed above.
