ATLANTA, Ga. -- Recovery officials in Georgia have announced the closing of all State-FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) by the end of the week (April 5).
The recovery centers will cease operations as follows:
Bartow County:

Following the closure of the DRCs, new registrants and applicants can register and stay in touch with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by selecting either the registration or FEMA Helpline option when calling the toll-free Registration/Helpline at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 800-462-7585 for the hearing- or speech impaired. Multilingual operators are available to speak to applicants. Registration lines are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Online registration is available at www.fema.gov.
The closures are based on a steady decline in center visitors in the past week.
Since opening, the Matthews facility has handled 57 inquiries from area residents, the Morris Brown College facility handled 128 inquires, the Wrens Middle School facility handled 63 inquires, the Cedartown facility handled 19 inquires, the Euharlee facility handled 34 inquires and the Waynesboro-Burke facility handled 46 inquires.
To date, nearly 500 homeowners, renters or business owners in the seven federally declared counties have taken the opportunity to meet face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists from the state, FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), other government agencies and volunteer organizations.
The SBA Business Recovery Service Center at the Morris Brown College will close on Saturday. The SBA Customer Service Center's toll-free 800-659-2955 will remain in operation and is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday.
