Disaster Recovery Center Hours To Change Saturday

DENVER, Co. -- The Disaster Recovery Center in Windsor High School gymnasium will change its hours effective immediately. The DRC will now be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will remain closed on Sundays.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Colorado Division of Emergency Management (CDEM) have coordinated services at the center, located at 1100 West Main, since Tuesday, May 27.

A Disaster Recovery Center provides opportunities for residents and businesses affected by disaster to meet face-to-face with representatives from federal agencies and find answers to questions about the recovery process.

Representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help homeowners, renters and business owners complete their disaster loan applications and accept their completed applications. Anyone not able to come in to the DRC an call 1-800-659-2955 or visit the SBA web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.

Individuals in Larimer and Weld counties can still register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those who have hearing or speech impairments. FEMA operators are available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday until further notice. Registration can also be completed online at www.fema.gov.

The Colorado Division of Emergency Management (CDEM), within the Department of Local Affairs, is the state’s emergency management agency. The agency works to identify and lessen the effects of emergencies, disasters and threats to Colorado by developing effective prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery actions for all disasters and emergencies.

FEMA coordinates the Federal government’s role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terrorism.
