IN MEMORIAM
 

We mourn the passing of Sister Marie Carol Hurley, OP, who died on Tuesday, August 26.

Sr. Marie Carol's health had begun declining in mid-2007. She soon moved to Adrian, Michigan, where she could have regular care and the fellowship of her sisters in the Adrian Dominican Community.
Shown here in 1995, helping cut the ribbon to open the building we still own, Sister Marie Carol had taken a major leadership role in Peace Education since our earliest days. She served as Chairperson of the Board for many years.

She continued as an enthusiastic proponent of taking peace to children and adults not only in the United States, but worldwide. Almost 90 years old, her energy and enthusiasm surpassed many people decades younger in years.

Funeral services were held in Adrian, Michigan on August 29, with a memorial Mass in Miami on September 4.

The family encourages those wishing to honor Sister Marie Carol to make a donation in her memory to Peace Education Foundation, 1900 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami FL 33132.
