CollegeResponse^®: National Depression Screening Day: October 10, 2008

National Depression Screening Day is a one-day outreach, education and screening event held in October of each year.

As a component of the NDSD Regular Kit, the College SOS Suicide Prevention Program includes a video, discussion guide and educational material that can be presented by Residence Life Staff, Wellness Programs, Counseling Personnel or others at any time throughout the year.

The program aims to raise public awareness that mood and anxiety disorders are common and often undetected disorders for which there are many effective treatments, and to identify those students at-risk for mood and anxiety disorders and refer them for treatment.
