What Works Clearinghouse

Established in 2002, the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) is a central and trusted source of scientific evidence for what works in education.
An initiative of the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences, the WWC:

Key Staff      |     Principal Investigators      |     Contact Us      |     What's New

The WWC is administered by the U.S. Department of Education's (ED) Institute of Education Sciences through a contract with Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., a nationally recognized leader in education research and in rigorous reviews of scientific evidence.

As a partner site of the WWC, Doing What Works (DWW), led by the ED Office of Planning, Evaluation & Policy Development (OPEPD), helps educators identify and make use of effective teaching practices. Much of the DWW website content is based on information from the WWC in addition to other types of information and materials from IES.
