El PASO, Texas -- The deadline to apply for disaster assistance is quickly approaching. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is encouraging those affected by the storms or flooding from July 27, to August 25, 2006 to register for assistance by October 16, 2006.

If you are waiting for an insurance settlement, you should register now for disaster assistance. After your settlement, you may still have unmet needs which may be eligible for federal, state or local programs. Don’t wait, call FEMA now.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) located at 7500 Viscount Blvd., Suite 292 will be open through October 16, 2006. The facility is open Mondays through Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
