FEMA Registration Helpline Hours To Change For Christmas

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.  -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) disaster registration/Helpline will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and hours of coverage on Dec. 26 will be from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Central Standard Time).

Helpline hours after Dec. 26 will revert to normal operating hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.  The FEMA disaster registration/Helpline phone number is 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). People with speech or hearing impairments may call TTY 1-800-462-7585.

Though no services will be available through the Helpline on Dec. 25, individuals may still file a new application, check the status of an existing registration, or update contact information online at www.fema.gov.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
