Keeping Communities Safe

Keeping Communities Safe

Attorney General Lisa Madigan works with law enforcement agencies and state’s attorneys to ensure that our communities are safe places to live and raise children.

As part of her commitment to community safety, Attorney General Madigan is working to increase the supervision of sex offenders, curb the spread of methamphetamine, provide training and education programs on high tech crimes, coordinate the Illinois Internet Child Exploitation Task Force, coordinate services to the immigrant population and unite all youth programs under one Youth Advocacy Initiative.

In addition, the Attorney General's office provides assistance to State's Attorneys across Illinois, prosecute cases developed by Office investigators and represent the state when in criminal appeals.

Youth Advocacy Initiative
As part of the Office of the Attorney General's proposed Statewide Community Support Division, the Youth Advocacy Initiative (YAI) would unite under one initiative all youth-related programs offered through the Community Resource Center. Combining all youth programs into one initiative will allow the Office of the Attorney General to focus on one overall youth initiative while simultaneously pulling out specific programs to focus on at appropriate times.
