Leprosy is not common in the United States. Approximately 5,000 people currently are diagnosed with leprosy, and about 150-200 new cases are reported each year. ALM helps to fund the U.S. Public Health Services' National Hansen's Disease Program located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
