USA Freedom Corps Participates in
National Conference on Volunteering and Service

From August 4 - 6, USA Freedom Corps had a strong presence as the annual National Conference on Volunteering and Service in Washington. The conference is the premier gathering of leaders in the national service and volunteer networks. President Bush Addresses 2005 National Scout Jamboree

While addressing the 2005 National Scout Jamboree, President Bush on July 29 said, "Coming to this jamboree gives me great confidence in the future of our nation. For nearly a hundred years, Boy Scouts have set a high standard of service and duty to God and country ... through the generations, Scouts have made America a stronger and better nation." President Bush Recognizes Chicago and Albuquerque Volunteers for Dedication to Volunteer Service

President George W. Bush presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Linda Cesario upon arrival in Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Cesario is an adult literacy volunteer through the Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago.

President George W. Bush also presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Sally Adams upon arrival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Monday, August 8, 2005. Adams is a volunteer with Junior Achievement of New Mexico.

To thank them for making a difference in the lives of others, President Bush has met with nearly 450 individuals around the country, like Cesario and Adams, since March 2002.
