  • DIRECTOR OF USA FREEDOM CORPS SPEAKS AT LEARN AND SERVE AMERICA EVENT.  Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps Desiree T. Sayle presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Alexandria Canada-Marcus at the Learn and Serve America Grantee Training Conference in Bethesda, Maryland, on Monday, November 8, 2004. Canada-Marcus, 16, participates in a Learn & Serve America class at Roosevelt High School in Washington, D.C. Through the class, she began volunteering at Community Harvest, a local nonprofit organization that works to combat hunger….
