Make a Difference Day Is Coming!
 October 25, 2008, marks the 18th Make a Difference Day, the nation's single largest day of service. Last year, three million people volunteered across America on Make a Difference Day. Anyone can participate and projects can be large or small. Make a Difference Day is sponsored by USA Weekend Magazine and its 600 carrier newspapers, working in partnership with HandsOn Network.

President Bush Recognizes San Antonio Woman for Dedication to Volunteer Service
President George W. Bush presented the President's Volunteer Service Award to Sonya McDonald upon arrival in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday, October 6, 2008. McDonald is a volunteer with Fisher House and Returning Heroes Home.
