President George W. Bush presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to United States Air Force Second Lieutenant Melissa Rosa upon arrival at the airport in Macon, Georgia, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Rosa, 24, is a volunteer with Hands On Macon. To thank them for making a difference in the lives of others, President Bush honors a local volunteer, called a USA Freedom Corps Greeter, when he travels throughout the United States. President Bush has met with more than 500 individuals around the country, like Rosa, since March 2002.
