SPOUSES AND SIGNIFICANT OTHERS

They were the one that was always there for you, through good and bad.  They provided strength, they provided love.  They were your love, your friend, your soul mate.  They were the mother or father of your children; they were the one that shared your life and goals.  They were the one that was going to be the father or mother to your children.   You now find yourself alone, facing an uncertain future.

As a spouse with children, you face a future in raising your children on your own, dealing with your own grief as you also deal with the grief of your children.  You may be working through the pain of a lost future that involved children, plans and dreams.  As a significant other, you face a future in which the direction has been altered; you found a soul mate, a companion in which to share your life, and now all of the hopes, dreams and your future together are gone.

TAPS lovingly provides a place for you to find kindred spirits in your journey; other spouses and significant others that are walking the same path and those that have journeyed before you.  There is support for you, and support for your children.

Through our peer groups, resources and support services, TAPS stands ready to provide you with compassion and care.  Our hearts go out to you and TAPS takes great care in supporting you and honoring your loved ones.

We invite you to visit our Grief Support Services page for information of our online support groups and how to request a peer mentor and our Resources page for additional information on support, counseling and publications.
