President George W. Bush presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Dr. Mas Kamigaki upon arrival at the airport in Stockton, California, on Monday, October 2, 2006. Kamigaki is a volunteer with CareVan, a program of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, St. Mary’s Interfaith Community Services, and the Stockton Rotary Club. To thank them for making a difference in the lives of others, President Bush honors a local volunteer, called a USA Freedom Corps Greeter, when he travels throughout the United States. President Bush has met with more than 500 individuals around the country, like Kamigaki, since March 2002.
