USA Freedom Corps - The President's Call to Service - Weekly Update

"I started what's called the USA Freedom Corps to give Americans a chance to participate in making their communities and cities and neighborhoods better, and the response has been fantastic. Our charities are strong, neighborhood healers are active all across America. Our policemen and firefighters and people who wear our nation's uniform remind us on a daily basis what it means to sacrifice for something greater than yourself. Once again, the children of America believe in heroes because they see them every day."

President George W. Bush on November 13, 2003
during a speech in Orlando, Florida
