Congresswoman Susan Davis Earns Perfect Score for Votes on the Environment

League of Conservation Voters scorecard rates Davis at 100%

WASHINGTON – In the annual scorecard of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) received a perfect score for her votes on the environment.

“The people of San Diego have always held protecting the environment as one of their top priorities,” said Davis.  “If you have seen San Diego’s beautiful beaches, waterways, parks and wildlife refuges, you can certainly understand why.  Nationally and globally, we are learning what our future will look like if we don’t address climate change and alter our energy policies to emphasize renewable energy.”

Since 1970, the LCV has surveyed the most import votes on environmental issues.  The 2008 Scorecard examines 13 votes from the House of Representatives.

Davis was recognized for her votes supporting clean energy, protecting public lands, promoting public transportation, and opposing oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Davis has a lifetime LCV score of 97 percent.

In August, Davis was honored by California State Parks Foundation and the Endangered Habitat League for leading the legislative effort to ensure that a proposed toll road through San Onofre Beach State Park follows state environmental laws.
