Extended unemployment benefits that were approved last month by Congress will begin just before Christmas.Payments of extended benefits, which were approved as part of the Emergency Extended Unemployment Compensation Act, will begin the week of December 22.
WASHINGTON (Dec. 5) – Representative Kaptur, who returned to
Washington today to attend the House hearing on a bridge loan for the Big 3 automakers, said November’s 6.7 percent national unemployment rate will “pale in comparison” to the jobless situation if the auto industry collapses.
