Individual and Community Disaster Education

This course was developed by Dr. Steven Rottman of the University of California, Los Angeles, Schools of Medicine and Public Health. It was developed at the upper division undergraduate level and consists of 483 pages and can be used to support an emergency management curriculum. This course can also be used as a stand-alone guide on the development and management of community disaster education programs. Topics include: governmental responses to disasters, citizen perceptions of disasters, disaster preparedness education methods, model preparedness education programs, community disaster education (CDE) program planning, and CDE teaching materials and techniques.
