A change is occurring: for those who remember this program by our previous name Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) Technical Assistance Program, you have been with us from the beginning. This program is going back to the beginning and will be known by this title once again. The change from All-Hazard Incident Management Team or AHIMT to Type 3 IMT can not be a complete one because many of the products of this program have been released with AHIMT being utilized. Those items will remain under the Type 3 umbrella with the realization that U.S. Fire Administration items that utilize AHIMT mean Type 3.

As part of the Type 3 Incident Management Team Technical Assistance Program, a DVD is being developed that will show the planning cycle according to the "Planning P" utilized in this Technical Assistance Program. Each component of the process will be discussed with demonstrations of each meeting shown. The DVD will be available for utilization in the different professional development opportunities of this program. Each position specific offering can key up the parts that pertain specific to them, in addition to playing this DVD from beginning to end. Filming starts in July and we will continue to update you on the project.

On another note:

There are many facets to the work being coordinated at the NIMS/IMSID. Included in this effort is an IMS Working Group representing the 9 disciplines, as well as other Federal Agencies and partners. Work being done by this group includes the following projects:

These four components are a system, not to be pick and choose one over another. The IMS Working Group and the CCMB are working side by side to promote these products through the process with we will have out to public comment, hopefully sometime in August. We will keep you informed on that work effort.

Last but not least:

We will be coordinating shadowing/mentoring opportunities as they present themselves. If you are not on the rotational schedule, please contact either myself or Cathy Broughton at (301) 447-1854 (or cathy.broughton@dhs.gov). We need a team roster by ICS position, as well as agency being represented, and a 24/7 Point of Contact. Keep safe.
