The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) replaced its Incident Command System (ICS) curricula with courses that meet the requirements specified in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). EMI developed the new courses collaboratively with the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, the United States Fire Administration, and the United States Department of Agriculture.

Effective January 1, 2006, EMI will discontinue support for:

• G190 ICS Law Enforcement
• G192 ICS for Public Works
• G195 Intermediate ICS
• G196 Advanced ICS
• G305.7 Overview of ICS
• IS 195 Basic ICS

Below are the new NIMS-compliant courses following NIMS guidelines:

• IS 100 (ICS 100) is available as an online or classroom-delivered course. This course is currently available in Law Enforcement and Public Works specific versions. Other discipline-specific versions become available later.

• IS 200 (ICS 200) is available as an online or classroom-delivered course. Discipline-specific courses will be added later.

NOTE: ICS 100 and 200 are located at http://www.training.fema.gov/emiweb/IS/crslist.asp

• G300 (ICS 300) is available as a non-resident course.

• G400 (ICS 400) is available as a non-resident course.

• G194 ICS for Public Officials is currently being revised to be NIMS compliant.

• G191 ICS/EOC Interface is currently being revised to be NIMS compliant.

NOTE: If you wish to obtain copies of this training material please contact your State Emergency Management Training Officer..

EMI encourages organizations to begin using NIMS compliant courses immediately.
