Updated information from the Emergency Management Institute!

On behalf of the staff at the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) I am happy to provide you this updated information on our training material. 

As the Acting Superintendent at EMI, I would like to encourage you to take the opportunity to attend EMI sponsored training this year and share this information with your colleagues. 

EMI, the emergency management and disaster training institute within FEMA, has numerous hazard-specific and all-hazard training courses available for immediate enrollment.  The EMI stipend program may reimburse State, local, Tribal, and territorial agencies for travel and on-campus lodging may be provided to at no charge if your application is approved by your State Emergency Management Agency’s State Training Officer. 

I encourage you to continue to work with our ten FEMA Regional Training Managers and to spread the word among your local communities of EMI training and exercise opportunities and the EMI professional development experience.

2008 will be an exciting year of challenges in emergency management and opportunity for growth by your participation in EMI training.  Please continue to monitor our EMI website for exciting developments.

To Apply for EMI Resident Courses:

Complete a FEMA Form 75-5, General Admissions Application with your student signature and the signature of supervisor or sponsoring agency official. Submit the application through the State emergency management training office. That office will review and process your form and fax it to the Admissions Office of the National Emergency Training Center at (301) 447-1658.
