The American Heritage Dictionary defines recreation as: Refreshment of one’s mind or body through activity that amuses or stimulates; to play. And in the “ Americana” Dictionary, the definition is West Wendover! Here we have it all. If you enjoy recreating in the outdoors you can mountain bike, horseback ride, swim, golf, play tennis, baseball, basketball, watch migrating birds in the Bluebell Wilderness Service Area, fish till your hearts content, roam the country on your ATV or just lounge on the grass looking at the clouds and some of the most beautiful sunsets on earth. Here in the greater West Wendover area, we are noted for high desert vistas, and wild life such as deer, elk, mountain lion and big horn sheep. In addition, if you are keen to activities in the wild blue yonder, we have superb flying weather with over 340 days of sunshine and great summer thermals for those who chose to soar. Whatever your desires, its all in the forecast!

If you are into exploring entertainment, West Wendover has many top ranked casinos which offer fabulous dining, top name entertainment and a barrage of games of chance and risk, from blackjack to slot machines. There are many areas of both historic and geological interest in the area that are worth checking out. Danger Cave, where some of the earliest signs of man have been found, the Bonneville Salt Flats, Ancient Lake Bonneville shoreline and coral reefs, Wendover Field Bomber Training Base and the associated gunnery range along with Juke Box Cave where military men and women during World War II would hold all night parties and dances. Along with these there are many other attractions such as the Raptor Migrating Range, which are accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles, ATV’s, horses, hiking or biking.
