Map Legend Help

Goal

The Legend consists of two tabs: The Legend and Identify. The Legend tab allows users to turn layers on and off and to refresh the map. The Identify tab displays data when the user clicks on the "i" button under the Navigation Tools on the map viewer. The user can get metadata on the layers in the map viewer by clicking on the layers in the legend. The metadata will be displayed in a new window (Metadata Viewer).

Refresh Map Button
The Refresh Map button will refresh the map according to the filter layers the user turned on or off in the Legend.
Can't see a layer or labels?
Some map layers and feature labels will not be visible at certain extents or scales. For example, the zip code layer may be turned on but not visible. This happens because the zip code layer doesn't display until the user is zoomed in to a 1:200,000 scale or larger (a smaller area). To view these scale-dependent layers, continue to zoom in until they appear in the map. Make sure that each desired map layer is checked in the legend and that the Refresh Map Button is clicked.
