National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board

The National Bomb Squad Commanders Advisory Board (NBSCAB) represents the Bomb Squad Commanders on the more than 450 accredited bomb squads in the U.S. and serves the approximately 2500 certified bomb technicians on those squads. National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory

At the request of Congress, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) established the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. NPPTL's mission is to prevent work-related injury and illness by ensuring the development, certification, deployment, and use of personal protective equipment and fully integrated, intelligent ensembles. NPPTL focuses expertise on design and testing of a variety of state-of-the-art personal protective devices and technologies including respirators, chemical-resistant clothing, hearing protectors, and safety goggles and glasses for use by first responders against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agents in the event of a terrorist incident.
