E136 - Exercise Development Course
Course Description:
This course is designed for experienced emergency exercise staff to acquire
in-depth knowledge and skills related to the exercise development process,
including management, control, simulation, and evaluation. An emphasis is placed
on the construction of exercise planning documents; staffing and training of
team leaders in control, simulation, and evaluation; the development of expected
player actions and points of review; and exercise administration and logistics.
Selection Criteria:
State, FEMA regional, other federal agency staff, and local and tribal emergency
management/emergency services staff who have the responsibility to lead or
serve as a team member on their respective organization’s/jurisdiction’s
exercise development teams.
Prerequisites:
Required:
The participant must have substantial knowledge of emergency management
operations and exercises within his/her organization and the assigned responsibility
to lead and serve as a member of his/her respective organiza-tion’s/jurisdiction’s
exercise planning and/or development team.
Recommended:
Participants should complete IS-120, An Orientation to Community Disaster
Exercises; G139, Exercise Design; and G130, Exercise Evaluation.
