Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to enable participants to function successfully as Human Resource (HR) Specialists. Because all HR positions are closely related in responsibilities in carrying out the HR function within the Joint Field Office (JFO), this course is also designed to bring all HR personnel with a disaster role up to speed with current policies and procedures.
Course Objectives:
- Demonstrate skills in preparing for opening, delivering, and closing down HR operations
- Demonstrate ability to establish and administer FEMA recruitment and hiring operations in a disaster
- Process Time and Attendance
- Provide HR administrative duties
- Provide HR employee services
- Develop a coaching strategy for HR staff as needed
Prerequisite:
Must be a member of the HR cadre
Course Length:
4 full days. Travel days are Sunday and Friday. |
Target Audience:
All HR Specialists (PFT and DAEs) and Branch Chiefs
Continuing Education Units:
EMI awards 2.4 CEUs for completion of this course.
