DF-324: PDA-IA Field Ops

Purpose of Course:

  • The course explains the processes and SOPs of damage assessment.  Data collection, documentation, analysis, reporting team findings, team coordination, and program estimated costs for a disaster.
  • Participants in this course will receive the training needed to successfully conduct a PDA across regional boundaries and will use current reference materials in association with the PDA.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, the target audience will be able to:

  • Cite specific guidelines from the IA-PDA Operations Manual.
  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of each member of the PDA Team.
  • Assess damages to homes based on FEMA Guidelines.
  • Record data from the PDA in the required formatted field forms.
  • Analyze data for a team summary.

Target Audience:

FEMA IA personnel, State and local partners, and any other agency or organization personnel involved in the PDA process would benefit from this course.
