DRC Managers are responsible or managing and coordinating the operations and activities in Disaster Recovery Centers. The role includes supervising DRC staff and interacting with other Federal, State, local, and voluntary agencies present in the DRC. This course provides basic training to individuals who will serve as DRC Managers.
The objectives of this course will enable the target audience to:
- Define the role of the DRC Manager.
- Describe the major functions of the DRC Manager during each stage of DRC Operations: Set-Up, Daily Operations, and Closure.
- Discuss the elements of information sharing in DRC operations.
Applicant Services staff who have served in a DRC exhibiting a working knowledge of specific tasks as identified in the DRC Support Specialist Task Book: Employee Job Aid and Assessment Guide. This course is beneficial for all Applicant Services staff identified or seeking to become a DRC Manager. It will also broaden the knowledge and understanding of any Applicant Services staff working in the disaster environment.
