Austrade
Austrade (Australian Trade Commission) is a government agency charged with facilitating Australian exports and assisting Australian companies doing business overseas. Their website includes links to publications (such as annual reports) in PDF format, a directory of Austrade offices worldwide, and a searchable database of Australian companies.
Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The home page of Australia's national chamber of commerce includes links to the websites of the state chambers of commerce and various national industry associations. Many ACCI publications and issue papers from the early 2000s are freely available in PDF format.
Australian Council of Trade Unions
The website of Australia's national organization of labor unions offers media releases, a directory of unions and union members, and other resources.
Australian Financial Review
Internet edition of Australia's major financial daily. Users can browse the current issues and the previous three weeks of the paper online for free, but a nine-month searchable archive is available only to paying subscribers.
Reserve Bank of Australia
The website of Australia's central bank includes links to information about Australian currency, a range of full-text publications, and financial statistics. The latter includes historical statistics from 1947 to 1997.

Business Entry Point (Australian Government)
The Australian government’s attempt to create “one-stop shopping” for those seeking to establish or manage a business in Australia. Includes a searchable/browseable government and business directory, a glossary of business-related acronyms, initialisms, and technical terms (many unique to Australia), access to ABN Lookup (online Australian Business Register, which provides rudimentary information for all Australian businesses), and many other resources.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
Independent Australian government body charged with regulating financial markets and consumer protection in the financial services field (credit, insurance, pensions). ASIC maintains a variety of free online business databases and registers, including the National Names Index of corporate and business names. These databases generally provide rudimentary description and contact information. The Fido site provides consumer information on financial services.
Budget (Australian Government)
Collection of documents issued annually by the Treasury, the government department in charge of financial and economic policy.
Noel Butlin Archives Centre
Website for a collection of primary source materials related to Australian business and labor history. Includes information about the Centre and its activities, lists of holdings for various collections, subject guides to the collections, a history of the Centre (which is named for a noted Australian economic historian), and other features. The Centre is part of the Australian National University Archives.
