House Affordable Medicines Task Force2305 Rayburn House Office Building PurposeThe Prescription Drug Task Force is working to bring focus to issues involving the cost and availability of prescription drugs. The Task Force pursues policies that will improve the quality of life for seniors and other consumers who are forced to choose between food, medicine, and paying their bills. Many members of the task force have introduced legislation calling for reforms in existing policies and new initiatives to improve access to prescription drugs. The task force intends to address and advance those proposals and explore new policy recommendations. The task force serves as a clearinghouse for information and hosts educational forums, meetings, and briefings. The task force is an advocate for consumers in its endeavor to ensure reasonable and affordable access to prescription drugs and also to insure that American taxpayers benefit from investments made by the government to support the pharmaceutical industry.
