Veterans Affairs (VA)The Department of Veterans Affairs is the agency that deals with Veterans benefits. These include life insurance, service connected and non-service connected disability, health care benefits and grave markers. Health care benefits include insurance, hospital, nursing home and at home assisted care. I would like to apply for service or non-service connected benefits or survivor benefits but I do not know which forms I need to send in to the Veterans Administration (VA). Where can I find these forms? The VA has made it very easy for veterans and survivors to apply for benefits by visiting their online gallery of forms and information. Click below to access this gallery of forms, including forms for service disabled veterans insurance, compensation and pension, education benefits, health benefits, and vocational rehab and employment services. Click here to access the VA's online forms gallery. It has been six months since I have heard anything from the VA on my claim. What should I do? You should contact your veteran's representative (DAV or other) who is helping with your claim and see if they have an update. My office would also be happy to send an inquiry asking for a status update. Please know your SSN or C number. |
