BERRY STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF SECOND AMENDMENT ENFORCEMENT ACT

WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Today, Congressman Berry released this statement on the House Passage of H.R. 6691, the Second Amendment Enforcement Act. Congressman Berry is an original cosponsor of the bill.

"Gun ownership and hunting is a way of life in Arkansas," said Berry. "As Americans, gun ownership is not only part of our heritage - it is the cornerstone to our constitution. The Second Amendment is a right we must fight to preserve and that is why I'm proud to stand with my colleagues today to protect our right to bear arms."

H.R. 6691 will restore Second Amendment rights to the residents of Washington, D.C. The bill will allow individuals to keep firearms ready for home protection and bar the District Government from enacting any new gun laws that might "discourage" gun ownership.
