WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor and Representative Marion Berry (AR-01) today announced that the city of Marked Tree will receive a $559,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development program. The city of Marked Tree also will receive a $705,000 loan from USDA. These funds will be used to replace the deteriorating sewer lines in the existing system.
"These federal dollars will help provide critical water infrastructure improvements for the people of Marked Tree," said Lincoln. “I commend local leaders for working to secure this significant Rural Development investment."
“Updating the sewer system is vital to the health and economic well-being of Marked Tree residents,” said Pryor. “I applaud local leaders for seeking these funds and ensuring that critical investments in our infrastructure are completed.”

USDA Rural Development grants support public facilities and services, promote economic development, and offer technical assistance to help address the diverse and unique needs of rural communities.
