SENATOR COLLINS’ STATEMENT ON DEPUTY SECRETARY JACKSON LEAVING POST AT DHS
 
Washington, DC - Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary, Michael P. Jackson, who serves as the Department’s chief operating officer, announced today that he will be leaving DHS. Senate Homeland Security Committee Ranking Member Senator Collins released this statement.

“I commend Deputy Secretary Jackson on for his strong leadership at the Department of Homeland Security. As the Department’s chief operating officer, Mr. Jackson has been responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Department’s 208,000 employees for the last two and a half years. He brought many years of federal government experience to this position, which has served the Department well. I am grateful for his public service and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
